Can I use DONNOK in US dollars, yen or English? Currency, language and country settings

DONNOK supports KRW, USD and JPY and an English or Korean interface. Funds are kept separately per currency, and purchasing power always uses South Korea’s CPI, whichever currency you choose.

What do the currency, language and country settings each change?

The three settings are independent. Country sets the source of price and economic data, currency is the unit you enter and see amounts in, and language is the app interface. Changing one leaves the other two as they are.

What happens to my won funds if I switch to dollars or yen?

Existing amounts are not converted. Each currency keeps its own list of funds, registration dates and investment settings, and the screen shows only the funds in the selected currency. A currency you pick for the first time starts empty, and when you switch back, your original funds reappear unchanged.

There is no way to combine funds from different currencies into one total. Reset in Settings deletes the funds in every currency at once.

If I enter US dollars, is it calculated with US inflation?

No. In app 0.1.1, purchasing power is calculated with South Korea’s CPI regardless of currency. If you enter 10,000 dollars, the change is based on South Korean prices, not the US consumer price index.

So choosing USD or JPY means recording amounts in a different unit while still measuring against South Korean prices; it does not show purchasing power at overseas prices. Price data for other countries cannot be selected yet.

How do I switch the app to English?

This website is available in seven languages, but the app interface currently supports Korean and English.

  1. Open Region and language in the Settings tab.
  2. Under Language, choose English.
  3. Menus and messages switch to English. Your funds, currency and country stay the same.

What is Find country from current location?

In the app on iOS 26 or later, Find country from current location on the country screen suggests the country for price data. It asks for approximate location permission only when you tap it, and the setting changes only after you confirm.

If the detected country is not supported, your current setting is kept and the list of supported countries is shown. On other iOS versions and on Android, you search for and choose the country yourself.
